Iām a former elementary school teacher, I used to teach grade 7 and 8, with a specialty in music. Growing up, I always thought Iād have a career in musicā¦Ā but life had other plans!
Iāve always loved Halloween, and over time, that love turned into crafting really elaborate costumes, which eventually led me to face paint.Ā I had so much fun painting during the spooky season that I justĀ kept going,Ā even after Halloween ended.Ā What started as a once-a-year hobby quickly turned into a creative obsession.
AsĀ I shared my work online, things started to growĀ and eventually, I made the leap andĀ left teaching to pursue makeup full-time. But as much as I love being creative, I found myself really missing the classroom. So I decided to bring both of my passions together:Ā teaching and makeup.
Thatās how the MakeItJessĀ Academy was born -Ā a space for beginner-friendly, budget-conscious SFX lessons that are fun, approachable, and easy to follow.
